The man Christ Jesus

I Timothy 2:5

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

This verse says that Jesus became a man when he came to the earth and remains one today as he sits at the right hand of the Father as the mediator between God and man (us).

I John 2:1-6

(1) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
(2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
(3) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
(4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
(5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
(6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

It says here that he is our advocate with the Father and if we say that he abides in us, then we ought to walk even as he walked. Jesus walked for 33+ years on this earth without sin in obedience to the Father. He became our substitute (propitiation), if he was not just like us, how could he be our substitute?

In Hebrews 2:9: Updated 2/3/08

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."

Jesus was made a little lower than angels so he could taste death for you and me by the Grace of God. He was cut off from God in our place so we do not have to be. Jesus had to become a man to do this becasue, God is not lower than the angels and God cannot taste death.

I John 2:18-23

(18) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
(19) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
(20) But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
(21) I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
(22) Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
(23) Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

II John 7

"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."

If you deny Jesus is a man and came in the flesh, you deny the Father. Furthermore you are a liar and an antichrist
